Mueller Center 500,000/1,000,000 Pound Club

Do you have a hard time sticking to a regular lifting program? Do you need a new challenge to motivate you? You just cannot seem to get past that initial week of lifting without not wanting to go back, and then you don’t go back and when you try it again you are not any stronger than before.  Oftentimes individuals struggle to achieve and maintain their fitness goals once they enter college or get a little older. More often than not it is because they do not “have the time” or a coach standing behind them forcing them to make the commitment to a regular lifting program. The Mueller Center wants to help people work hard and stick to reaching their goals by rewarding them for their hard work.

The Mueller Center’s 500,000/1,000,000 Pound Club is designed to help you keep motivated and reach your goals by participating in lifting weights.  As you work out, keep track of the repetitions, sets, and weights you lifted and then fill in your card. Your goal is to reach 500,000/1,000,000 pounds by the end of the Fall 2001 semester.  When you complete the task you will receive a special 500,000/1,000,000 Pound Club t-shirt.

Anyone can join, faculty, staff, and students.  Stop by the front desk at the Mueller Center and pay the $6.00 registration fee and fill out the registration form. You will then be given a recording chart to fill out that will be kept in a box at the Mueller Center front desk.  Choose which pound total you are aiming to reach. When you reach 500,000/1,000,000 pounds turn in your card and receive your t-shirt.

It is a great way to get strong, stay strong or get in better shape without a coach watching over your shoulder.  You are your own coach and can develop self-discipline on your own while feeling good about reaching your own fitness and strength goals.
